Both boats going out...for Students, mostly on Aleta as they learn the basic differences in lines from Benjamin and the different feel of the boat. Hand, reef, steer. Introduction to charting. Knots on way back. Project Rebound interns should join us.

Project Rebound is a college based program seeking to integrate inmates back into society. This sail is for the internees and staff of the Program and may be the first of several such sails.

Sail on Golden Bear with students from Wallenberg High School.
Our hands on maintenance class for the students with both boats. Everything from checking the rigging, replacing some running rigging, checking fuel and oil filters, etc. etc. Good way to learn basic maintenance for mentors as well as mentees. All materials needed supplied.

A full day of certification except for overboard drill which may or may not happen...goal is to move all up the certification ladder and perhaps certify some new captains. Bring your lunch and we go rain or shine. Will include training on safety systems and knots...
CPR/First Aid training required for certification. Free to BWF volunteers. PLEASE NOTE: This certification will be blended learning, meaning that the video and "lecture" portion will be done online at your own time and only the skills portion will be done in-person. You will be sent a link from ARC American Red Cross (email may be addressed from Salesforce) Online portion must be complete before skills session. Sail on Golden Bear with high school students from Academy SF.
Our night sail with the students, often both boats going out. Heading to the City Front to show the kids. Often, their favorite sail. Dinner as we sail to City. Make sure you have a light on your life vest.
