Blue Water Foundation regularly operates three boats on San Francisco Bay. Our boats are well suited for up to twelve students, plus crew and program coordinators. All are fully insured by the Great American Insurance Group, and organizations participating in our program can be listed as co-insured.
Aleta is a Peterson custom 46-foot former racing sloop, donated to Blue Water Foundation in 2010. Aleta is used for school sails and the Gleaming Ocean Program, as well as training and man-overboard drills. Aleta is docked at Berkeley Marina, K Dock.

Benjamin Walters is a Hans Christian 43-foot cutter owned by our founder Lee Stimmel, and was the first boat used by the Foundation. Benjamin is used for Gleaming Ocean Program sails, as well as training and man-overboard drills. Because of her many luxury appointments, she is also well suited to our fundraising needs as a charter boat.

Golden Bear, a Frers designed 46-foot former racing sloop, was donated to BWF in 1997. Golden Bear is used for Thursday School sails and Tuesday Middle School Sailing Club as well as for training, week-end sailing programs and Man Overboard Drills. In 1983, as Bravura, she won the TransPac race to Hawaii with Best corrected Time ( just under 7 days, 23 hours).
